NICU - Day 42

Date: January 3rd
Gestational Age: 34 weeks 1 day

Madelyn is 6 weeks old today! I can't believe how fast those 6 weeks have gone. Today was a very big day. She got to be held by both of her grandmas!

Grandma Deb went first. There were definitely tears. Holding a grandbaby for the first time is a big deal, you know!

 Then Grandma Ann held Madelyn (I was actually concerned that she would not give her back to me). Grandma Ann cried too. Apparently it doesn't matter how many grandbabies you have, you are just as excited to hold each one as the one before.

After the grandmas left (Aunt Renae and Great Aunt Pam visited too!), Maddie and Mommy spent some quality one on one time with each other.

Later, Daddy showed up and got to help give Maddie another bath! Maddie also got to start her re-feedings into the lower part of her intestines today. They are currently only giving her 2 ccs every 4 hours, but it is a start!
