NICU - Day 77

Thank you for the outfit Jane! Maddie loves it!

Dan and I (plus our moms) were supposed to get training in changing Maddie's dressing on her broviac today, but the lady was sick, so we instead watched a nurse change it and got to ask some questions.

Grandma Feikes, Grandma Deb and Grandma Ann all spent the afternoon in the NICU and Grandmas Ann and Deb got to try a hand at feeding Maddie. We also, of course, spent time cuddling with Maddie. Everyone got a chance. Even Aunt Renae visited to get a cuddle in.

I couldn't help but share this picture where it looks
like Maddie is about to throw up. It took us several
photos before we got a good one of her.

Maddie's feeds were increased to 30 mLs every four hours. A whole ounce! She celebrated this by guzzling down her milk. She likes to play games when she is fed. She will act super hungry (chewing on her sleeves, sucking on her hands, rooting around, and whining) but then when you go to give her the bottle, she'll try to fall asleep. Maddie likes to sit straight up when she gets her bottle and has to be taken out of her sleep sack to stay awake. She also burps herself most of the time.
