NICU - Day 50

Date: January 11th
Gestational Age: 35 weeks 2 days
Weight: 2075 grams

Today we had Christmas with Dan's family. Maddie got several great gifts (and so did Dan and I) but one of the most precious was this bear that is made from something that Dan and his sister had when they were a baby. Deb made it for Maddie.

Not all of Maddie's gifts were a huge hit with me. Below is a gift from "Santa" for Maddie. Luckily, she has huge feet, so she won't be able to wear them for very long.

After we ate and opened gifts, it was time for cuddling....

Grandma Deb and Maddie having a very important talk.

Maddie was not upset in this picture, just trying to get a little extra attention.

Maddie smashed the 2 kg mark last night. That means that she is now big enough to get her surgery to reconnect her intestines (it will probably be in a week or two) and also for her central line (an iv in her chest that she will need before going home). Also notice the change in hats on her in the above pictures. She threw the first one on the floor (I'm guessing because it was orange, green, and yellow and didn't match her outfit).
