Interview with a Celebrity (Part I)

Wayne Rosauer may seem to be just a normal old farmer to you or me. But he is secretly a celebrity. With over 1600 facebook friends, he is quite the internet sensation. His facebook friends include: Jesus (well the man that played Jesus in Passion of the Christ), dozens of priests, and many people who don't speak English. Recently the weather woman from a local news station in Atlanta, Georgia sent him a friend request. I was lucky enough to be able to pick Wayne's brain when he came to visit me in room six of the Mother/Baby unit of the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. He ate my cheddar penguins and Twizzlers as we chatted.

Me: If you won a million dollars, what is the first thing you would buy?
Wayne: Um. Well. It would be something for myself obviously because I'm selfish. A mirror. Yes, a mirror so I can look at myself.

Me: What is the best choice that you have made in your life thus far?
Wayne: To keep all of my children, even when I wanted to give some of them away.

Me: What is one lesson that you would like your grandchildren to gain from you?
Wayne: Don't piss into the wind.

Me: If you could go back to one day in your life and relive it, which day would you choose?
Wayne: The day my favorite child was born. I wish I could relive the joy I felt that day, every day.

We unfortunately had to end our interview here due to Wayne not remembering where he parked and his wanting to assure he could find the car and get home before church on Sunday.

Please check back again soon for an interview with another celebrity from my life.

  2. Dad, Here we go with this favorite child crap again. We all know it is me. I have written proof (written in tiny all capital letters on a notecard) that when I was born he "couldn't believe he had a daughter" and going on ***"I have never had, never will, and never need to have a better day. It was profoundly wonderful. The most complete and most joyful I have ever felt. You have grown in to such a wonderful person who I adore and am so proud of."

***some overindulging may have taken place in the retelling of this note.

  4. BTW, I think people who comment on your blog should follow up their comment with the cryptogram that they had to enter in order to post their comments. The one I just had was "icycole 605". I think that's my new spy/porn/gangster/romance novel name.
